Will SAWUSA Help You Get Recruited?

This is a loaded question. If you are a parent asking it, you are likely in one of two camps…

  1. You are ALL-IN on college recruiting. You took out a second mortgage to help get your kid in every exposure event you can. You bring up your kids recruiting ranking (which doesn’t matter much by the way) in almost every conversation you have with another adult. You commonly use words like sleeper, tweener, exposure, prospect and next-level. You see everything and everyone’s value in life through the lens of college recruiting (he played D1, etc). You call college coaches ‘scouts’. You spend most of the time when you kid is playing trying to squint to see what logos are on the polos of random strangers at the game. OR…
  2. You are a normal person but maybe have heard a few things about what you should be doing to get your kid recruited. You are curious about SAWUSA and our role in this process.

If you are #1…. and I mean this respectfully, try to relax. Did you know that on average 90% of your time with your kid is over when they turn 18? My three kids are still young but it’s depressing to think about that. Try to enjoy just being able to be a part of their sports journey as a fan and supporter. Any time you spend worrying about recruiting rankings is time wasted. I know you are trying to ‘save money for college’, but the ROI on scholarship hunting is not good. Your time and effort would be so much more valuable in almost any other endeavor.

If you are #2, then please watch the video above. Hopefully my experience as a college coach, an author on college recruiting, a long-time speaker at recruiting events, and the owner of a college athletic recruiting business that has helped thousands of athletes play in college will be beneficial to you as you go through the process.

I appreciate the time you take to watch the video and hope to see you on a SAWUSA tour someday.
