Legendary women’s lacrosse coach Sue Murphy has been selected as the Head Coach of the SAWUSA (Student Athlete World USA) tour of Portugal that will coincide with the 2024 European Women’s Lacrosse Championships. The tour will take place from July 15-23, 2024 and will include stops in Lisbon, Porto, Braga, and Douro, as well as attendance at the semifinal and championship games of the 2024 European Championships.

“We are really excited to welcome one of the premiere coaches in the sport of women’s lacrosse to our coaching staff for our European Championships Tour,” said SAWUSA Director of International Tours Mike Spinner. “Sue is an internationally recognized coach, who has enjoyed success coaching some of the best players in the sport. She also has made an impact as a coach and leader for various programs that have benefitted young and developing lacrosse players, and recently returned to college coaching. Her passion for the sport and its athletes, and experience in international lacrosse make her an amazing addition to our staff. I think our women’s lacrosse players are going to have an amazing experience during our tour in July.”

Murphy recently began duties as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, marking the fourth college program for which she will serve as Head Coach. At the conclusion of four different seasons, Murphy was named Conference Coach of the Year.
