Our partner, US Select Basketball, has named 215 athletes, as TOP PROSPECTS based on their play at Fall Showcase events across the USA. Only an average of 9 athletes per event were chosen. Congratulations to these excellent athletes on this honor. These athletes have earned a preferred invitation to represent the USA while traveling internationally next summer with SAWUSA International Sports Tours. If you were one of the selected athletes Congratulations! It’s a great honor to be chosen from such a large pool of candidates. However, you still need to complete the SAWUSA Tour application to be considered for a spot on a tour with us. We will give your application preferential treatment as our team saw you play in person. However, our selection process is about much more than just Basketball ability. We require athletes to submit character references and complete a video interview with our staff. We want good players that are also quality young men and women capable to serve as AMBASSADORS OF THE USA while abroad. If you were NOT one of the selected athletes
Don’t worry, you can still apply to make one of our teams. Choosing ‘Top Prospects’ from an event that lasts just a couple hours is not a perfect science. The NBA is full of athletes who weren’t top of their classes in 9th grade! Also, our events have large age ranges, so often younger athletes are overshadowed by older ones. Regardless, we want to learn more about you so we can consider you. You are still invited to complete the application for a SAWUSA International Basketball Tour. Those named Top Prospects still need to complete the full application process just as those who were not. Attending the showcase is just one step in the process. We select our athletes based on many criteria including letters of recommendation, submitted video, and personal video interviews with our staff.
