We’re excited to officially announce Brandon Averitt as our U17 Boys Basketball Coach for the Portugal Basketball Festival!
Coach Averitt brings outstanding experience, leadership, and a deep connection to the SAWUSA mission.
His tour history includes the 2025 Costa Rica Adventure, 2024 United World Games, and the 2016 United World Games as an athlete, giving him a unique full-circle perspective on what it means to represent the USA on the international stage.
Brandon was also named SAWUSA’s 2025 Coach of the Year, a recognition that reflects the impact he has already made through his leadership, energy, and commitment to student-athletes.
He currently coaches at Chaffey College (CA) and previously played at SUNY Canton (NY) and UTEP (TX).
His coaching background, international tour experience, and passion for developing athletes make him an incredible fit for this role.
The Portugal Basketball Festival is about more than basketball.
It’s about competing internationally, experiencing a new culture, building lifelong memories, and proudly representing your country on and off the court.
